Chapter 4

*Farah's P.O.V*

"Lulu, Yasmeen! Latakloon kil ilakl."
" Okay..." they both shouted from the kitchen. The doorbell had wrung and I don't trust those two with food. They can scarf food down their throats as if they've never seen it before.
" Hi Farah." A tall girl in sweats said to me.
"Hey Sarah. Come on in. We were waiting for you to arrive so we could decide what to do for the night, did you bring the DVD's?"
"Yep. The one's you asked for and some extra in case anyone wants to watch something else."
Shocked by how thoughtful and considerate that was, unlike Yasmeen and Lulu, I replied "aww that's sweet! I must say, I haven't known you for long but so far you seem awesome."
She blushed as she came into the house and followed me to the kitchen.
"Guess who's here?" I asked Yasmeen and Lulu, interrupting them from their argument of who grabbed the last crisps packet first. They stared at me with dumbfounded looks on their faces.
"The pizza?" Yasmeen asking.
"We didn't even order pizza Yasmeen!" I replied with friendly annoyance in my voice.
"Ice cream?" Lulu asked.
"Lulu, I said a person!"
"Okay okay! Ikleeny ba3ad..."
"With the way you eat, I'm afraid you'll do that first hunny."
She glared at me as she went back to eating. I gave them a look before I said,
"Sara's here yal 7ameer. You invited her Yasmeen, remember?"
"Oh yeah, her." Yasmeen replied as if she didn't care.
"Just kidding!" She then jumped up and sprinted to Sara and attacked her with a hug.
"Tone down the love a bit Yasmeen." Lulu shouted at her with mouthful of crisps in her mouth.
"Haha, it's okay," Sara replied as she was released from Yasmeen's grip.
"So what we gon' do first ladies?" Yasmeen asked.
"Well, Sara's brought some movies for us to watch, so we'll start with that. They're mostly horror films, because I asked her to bring some."
"Laaaa!" Yasmeen said with a sad look on her face, "Mabeeee." she begged us.
"Sorry" Sara apologised.
"Don't apologise, we'll make her watch them, like we always do." I replied with a cheeky tone.
"So what movies did you bring?" Yasmeen asked.
"Paranormal Activity 4, House at the End of the Street, Scream 2, The Place Beyond the Pines, The Notebook,  10 Things I Hate About You and 21 Jump Street. I was going to buy Scary Movie 3  to bring bs I heard it's inappropriate so I decided against it."
"Wow…" we all replied at once, in shock.
"You're handy!" Lulu said jokingly.
"So which one are we going to watch first?"
"Well, I'm up for watching The Notebook any day, and I know Farah agrees with me," Lulu said.
"What about Paranormal Activity 4? I heard it's really scary," I suggested.
"I lik-"
"You brought The Place Beyond the Pines?! I WANT TO WATCH IT!" Lulu interrupted.
"Don't mind her, she's got a massive crush on Ryan Gosling," Yasmeen explained.
"Haha, I can't blame her. I absolutely adore him." Sara replied with a dreamy look on her face.
"Isn't he gorgeous?!" Lulu asked. She looked like an over excited child who ate sweets and had just spotted a playground.
"YES! I've watched every movie he's acted in!"
"Same! Except I couldn't watch The Place Beyond the Pines yet because I was out of the country when it was in the cinema here."
"Well I've watched it. It's boring but he makes it worth while."
"Great, then it's settled. We'll watch The Place Beyond the Pines then The Notebook."
"Heeey!" Yasmeen and I both shouted in protest.
"You don't get to choose the films we watch," I continued.
She rolled her eyes but not in a rude way before she said, "Fine… But can we watch The Place Beyond The Pines first? I really want to watch it," she pouted at us.
"Ugh, fine. But Yasmeen and I get to pick the next movie." I glared at her.
"Thank you!" She said as she sprung from her seat to hug me.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She said as she hugged me tightly.
"Ulla shda3wa, it's just a movie Lulu," I stated.
She let go of me and looked at me.
"That movie, is just a movie. But Ryan Gosling is…" she was distracted by her own trail of thoughts. I rolled her eyes at her strange yet not so unfamiliar behaviour.
"Do you agree Sara?" I asked her.
"Got to. Have you not seen the guy?" she replied with a smirk.
I agree to some extent, the guy is attractive but Lulu's just crazy about him.
"So what do you want to watch, Farah?" Yasmeen asked me.
"I really want to watch 21 Jump Street but I'm in the mood for horror. What's a sleepover without horror films?" I replied with a smirk.
"But I don't want to watch a horror movieeee," she whined.
"Aww, come on Yasmeen. They're awesome! The best part is the adrenaline that runs through your veins when you're waiting in anticipation to see what happens next!"
"But sometimes they're too scary…" she pouted.
"We'll watch just one! I promise. Not 4 like last time…"
"Which resulted with me not sleeping for 2 weeks." She gave me a look.
"Yeah… Sorry about that…" I replied with a guilty smile.
She didn't reply.

After many arguments we finally decided that we would watch The Place Beyond the Pines then Scream 2.

"God this movie's boring…" Yasmeen said as she yawned.
"Shhh!" Lulu hushed her.
I found the movie boring too but Lulu insisted on watching it and her and Sara seem to be enjoying it. I guess I have nothing to do than to wait for it to end.

I was lost in my thoughts, the movie was too boring, when I heard a loud gunshot. I jumped in my seat and was about to start panicking only then I realised it came from the television.
"NOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
Now that wasn't from the movie.
"HOW COULD THEY KILL RYAN GOSLING?! HOW?!" Lulu started ranting.
"Lulu wait, we don't know if he's dead yet." Yasmeen replied.
"He is." Sara informed us.
"WHAT THE HELL? WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT?"
"Lulu, can we please watch a different movie now?" I asked.
"Ugh, fine." Lulu grumbled.

We ejected the DVD and placed the one for Scream 2 instead. As the opening scene started we all heard a whimper coming from the end of the sofa, where Yasmeen was sitting at.

"Now I'm not going to sleep for the next week thanks to you Farah. "
"Hehe, you're welcome," I blushed.
"Oh yeah!" Lulu started, "we forgot to tell Sara about our sleepover tradition!"
"Oh my god, how could we have forgotten about that?" I replied.
"Well, it started off when we had our first sleepover…" I stopped only to realise that Sara had already fallen asleep.
"Looks like she's going to be a victim on her first night," Yasmeen said deviantly.
"7aram she doesn't know about it though." I replied.
"But it's a tradition, you can't spoil traditions now can you?"
"I suppose she's right," Lulu stepped in.
"Miskeena, she doesn't know." I replied
"3adi! It won't be that bad, but only because she doesn't know."

*Yasmeen's P.O.V*
Lulu, Farah, Sarah and I decided to go out walking. Farah's house got slightly boring. I don't know why we agreed to it but we did. We went into this alley. It wasn't dark or creepy like how most stories or movies make it out to be; but instead there were huge lampposts, with bright, blinding like, exactly like the ones you find in football stadiums, lighting up the alley. We stopped walking and we stood there in a group, gossiping. The alley was endless, I couldn't see the end of it, only the beginning where we had entered from. Farah was talking about a celebrity scandal when I saw a dark figure walk across the the street perpendicular to the alley. It was a bit strange but I pushed any thoughts of it out of my head and engaged in the group's conversation again.
"… said I liked your…"
I was soon distracted by that same figure, but this time it was at the beginning of the alley, blocking the entry standing with it's arms slightly spread out and legs apart. It was wearing a long black robe but I couldn't make out any of it's other features because the brightness. It was like looking at the sky on a bright sunny day, it's not possible to spot any of the stars in the sky.
"Guys…" I tried nudging Farah who was standing next to me, still talking about that scandal. She seemed unaware that I had spoken and had nudged her. They all were.
The figure had began to approach us. Slowly, yet I could still not see what it looked like.
"Farahhh!!" I tried shaking her.
"…why would she actually do that? Ya3ni fahmna you…"
"FARAH!!" I said louder this time.
The figure was halfway across the alley and to our destination now.
"GUYS! SHFEEKUM?!" I tried shaking them all this time and even shoving them. No response. It was as if I wasn't even there with them.
Only being meters away from us, I saw that the figure was wearing a mask. I started screaming and jumping in front of Farah, Lulu and Sara, doing anything o get their attention.
Dressed exactly like Ghostface in Scream 2 and a knife in hand, the figure was right behind Lulu. Raising his arm, preparing to stab Lulu, I pushed her. But my arm had gone through, as if I was ghost. How can that even be possible?
'Ghostface' had already stabbed Lulu several times in the back, blood pouring out of her, leaving her body as if it was a marathon. Her knees had given away, she collapsed to the ground but she still had an excited expression locked on her face, unchanged from the moment the conversation had began.
Next he had moved on to Sara, who was on my right hand side. This time he had aimed for her head. The knife had gone through her skull, I don't know how that's possible but it had. She too was still engaged with what Farah was saying. They all were unaware of myself and the Ghostface impersonator. 'Ghostface' had once again stabbed her, but this time, he stabbed her face. The knife went straight through her cheek, right bellow her eye. Now her body had collapsed too, also with the same expression on Lulu's face.
Farah was next. She was still yapping away about whatever she was so interested in. 'Ghostface' slit her throat. That was all it took to have her body give away. Her body lay on the floor, with her neck nearly in two and blood rushing out of her body. Her mouth was still moving, but no sound came out now.
'Ghostface' turned and gave me his back, but he faced the three (what you think would be lifeless, but is not) bodies. He suddenly raised his hands, as if he was conducting an orchestra, but it seemed like he was trying to summon Lulu, Farah and Sara's spirits. Suddenly their souls rose from their bodies. All fixated with same expression that Lulu had on her face when she collapsed, emotionless, smiling wide and eyes staring ahead at nothing. They had not flinched or changed their expression in any way. Their souls just rose from their bodies until they were facing ahead, staring right through me.
'Ghostface' now turned to face me. He slowly approached me. Stood right in front of me, I held my breathe. He held up his knife and dragged it along my cheek softly so that it didn't cut me.

I woke up, breathing heavily and drenched in sweat. When I'd controlled my breathing I realised that inches away from my face was 'Ghostface'. I looked around the room, four more of 'Ghostface' stood around, Farah, Lulu, Sara and I.

Chapter 3

* Yasmeen's POV*

Living with this secret is eating me away. If they knew, if anyone knew, they would never look at me the same way. To tell a secret is like opening a door of answers for questions you've never even asked yourself, or maybe you have, but I'm pretty sure in my case, you haven't. I'm always feeling the need to tell someone, but no one, and I mean no one can be trusted these days, not even them. I always wonder, if I could go back in time and undo whatever mistakes I made that lead to this, would my situation be better or worse? On another note, for years I'd been suffering from insomnia. Countless days I've stayed up all night, partly from guilt, and partly from adrenaline. If only the people that got hurt in the process would forgive me one day, that's my only wish.

*Farah's POV*

September the 13th marks the day the person I trusted the most betrayed me in a way I never thought could. Wondering who I'm talking about? Well it was Dana.
More questions in your head? Well Dana used to be one of our best friends. It always used to be Yasmeen, Lulu, Sarah and I. We would go out whenever we could and have a sleepover on Friday every month. It was a tradition of ours. Some would mistake us for sisters from how alike we were and how we bonded; that's how close we were, we had a special connection. Ever since she betrayed us, nothing's been the same. We'd all been emotionally scarred by her. We all trusted each other with our hearts, we told each other the things you would never tell anyone else so that of course had an impact on our friendship. We did eventually get over it and her but it had some side effects we keep to our selves. We are aware of them, but we never talk about it. That's what she did to us.

*Sarah's POV*

I'm finally looking forward to school now. I got up quickly and got ready because I wanted to see my new friends since I actually have some now. My day always consists of small routines. The first one starting obviously after I wake up. First I go brush my teeth, and then get ready for school. I may be a morning person but most of the time in school days, i'm too tired to get up. Its an annoying feeling that I have to go and study for hours nonstop.

Throughout it all I like to listen to songs. I started to listen to all the songs on my iPod while I was brushing my teeth, and yes, I'm a morning person.  I guess you're wondering how can i listen to music at that time of the day? I just like to listen music at all times. Music is sensational, it's the key to the door of your emotions and it can almost always bear upon them and make your day brighter.

" Those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head. And since I fell for that spell, Im living there as well."

I'm keen on the little things in life. Staring outside a car while it drives past people, shops, places gets me thinking, and I almost always listen to songs at the same time, and almost every time I play my favourite song.

Ahhh, my favourite part.

"My legs are dangling off the edge,
The bottom of the bottle is my only friend,
I think I'll slit my wrists again and I'm gone, gone, gone, gone.
My legs are dangling off the edge,
A stomach full of pills didn't work again,
I'll put a bullet in my head and I'm gone, gone, gone, gone."

*Lulu's P.O.V.*
Another day. Another life. Another death....

I don't know why I'm talking about death, but I am.

Anyway, where was I?

Another month. Another.. another.. another.... Oh I give up!

It's Wednesday, isn't it? If it is then I need to wear pink when I see Yasmeen, Sara and Farah today. I need to remind those idiots to wear pink too.

"FARAAAAAAH!!!"
"LULU! SHTABEEEN?! IT'S 5:30 AM, WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME?!"
"Well... You know what today is, and you know what we do today.."
"No...?"
"It's Wednesday you idiot."
"No, it's not."
"Yes, it is."
"No, it's not."
"Yes, it is"
"No it's not! GOD LULU CHECK YOUR PHONE!"
I quickly glanced at my phone and realised it's actually Thursday.
"Oh. Right. Sorry Farah" I said in the sweetest voice I could.
"Whatever Lulu. I'm going back to sleep, and DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN."
"Sorry!" I replied in the sweetest tone I could muster.

Well I won't be calling her again in the morning...

Ooo, a shoebox on the floor!

Chapter 2

The first day of lessons were a drag. Sitting through 6 lessons throughout the day with no one giving any attention to the new girl. Don't get me wrong, I don't crave attention or anything like that but on anyone's first day at a new school, they'd want at least one person to talk to them (someone other than teachers).

I tried to talk to a few people but they just looked at me as if I was from another planet. And that was it.

Mum thought the opposite of course. Ever since she announced that the school had accepted me she'd been so cheerful and optimistic about it. It's like she's never been a new student before; well maybe she hasn't.
"Shloun kan awal youm 7abeebti?" she had asked me as soon as I got home.
"Il7mdila tamam." I showed no emotion whatsoever in my voice or my face.
"Shfeech Sara?"
I thought for a second before replying, "Madrisa. First day sucked. Didn't make any friends bs I did get homework. Yay."
"Saroon… 7abeebti, ana mit2akda ina bacher you will meet some lovely girls and you will make friends inshala. Bitshofeen."
"Ee, binshoof"
I kissed my mother on her forehead and went up to my room to start on my homework. I didn't want to get into trouble after only the first day of school.

The walls of my room were painted dark red, a relaxing colour that I chose when I was 13. Up to then I had muffin wallpapers which I'd had since I was a child. My mum only let me remove them and paint my walls 2 years ago. I never knew why but it could have been a lesson to teach me to think about something like that before deciding on doing anything so that I wouldn't regret it but it seemed a bit too much since I chose it when I was 4 or 5. My bed is in the corner of my room with two windows on the wall on either side of the corner. Most people would find it difficult to sleep in the morning but it looks beautiful between 6 and 10 am. Sunlight shines through my window and wakes me up. It's peaceful and relaxing. I have glow-in-the-dark stars and moons on my ceiling. I might seem too old for them but I like them. I sometimes like to fantasise about being and astronaut and going into space, discovering stars, galaxies, atoms, anything that's existence hasn't even crossed a human's mind before. In case you haven't noticed I'm a dreamer, and just like what John Lenon said, 'you may say I'm a Dreamer, but I'm not the only one.' Parallel to my bed is my cupboard. Also another dream of mine is to have a walk-in closet. And opposite my window is a desk where I do my homework (when I do my homework).

Halfway through doing my homework I got a call. My closest friend from my old school.
"Janaaaaaa!!" I screamed into the phone.
"Saraaaaaaa!" she just couldn't help but to scream back.
Sara and I were close but we weren't best friends. I hung out with a huge group of girls then, including Sara. We all spent a lot of time together but I never really had a best friend, I'm not sure why though.
"Shlounich?"
"Zaina. Shlounich oo shloun madristich ilydeeda?"
"It's good." I don't know why I lied to her, but I never really trusted anyone before so it's not like it's anything new.
"Tabeen ni6la3 youm il5amees?"
"Madri, ashouf. If I'm free, then we will. Inzain, I have to go. I didn't finish my homework."
"Okay,yala bye."

Eventually I finished my homework and soon after that I had to go to sleep.

Another day to survive through. Another day of school to face. I was now looking forward to school even less than I was yesterday. Preparing for school and doing everything I had to do right until the first bell wrung was slow. I'm dreading school. When I left the car all I wanted to do was run away. I'd have more fun roaming around in the streets than going to that place with people who don't want to talk to me. But unfortunately I had to go.

No one talked to me in the morning or during the first lesson, just as I thought; but during the second lesson, things started to change.

I had chemistry and we had an experiment. We had had our first lesson yesterday and the teacher wanted us to already start with experiments. We had to work in pairs and of course the teacher just had to chose pairs.
"Yasmeen, go work with the new girl. What's your name?" Mr John asked me.
"Sara, sir"
"Yasmeen, work with Sara"
A tall girl with long light brown wavy hair walked up to me.
"Hi Sara, I'm Yasmeen" she said with the biggest smile on her face. She seemed like a cheerful person.
"Hi I'm Sara" I replied with a shy smile.
"You're new, right? Which school did you used be in?"
"XXX, it was okay. I'm not really sure how I feel about this school yet mostly cause I'm still settling in and I haven't met a lot of people yet."
"Well you've met me now!" still with that huge smile on her face.
"Girls! Stop chit-chatting and get on with the experiment!" Mr John shouted at us.
"Well I hope you know what you're doing because I certainly don't" she whispered, still with a smile on her face.

The bell for break wrung and I actually wasn't dreading break more than the lessons. I was hoping Yasmeen wouldn't leave me and might introduce me, but I wasn't too hopeful in case I was let down. Fortunately for me, I wasn't.
"Farah, Lulu! Ta3alaw!" Yasmeen called out to them.
They shuffled over to us.
"Haaaaaa? Shtabeen?" a girl, a bit taller than Yasmeen with brown eyes and brown wavy hair, walked towards us.
"Meet Sara. She's new here. She came from XXX"
"Ohh, my brother goes there! Which grade were you in last year?" the other girl asked me. She was shorter than Yasmeen and the other girl, the shortest one out of all of us. She has sandy blond(A/N just clearing up, sandy blond hair is brownish blond. Some girls have brown hair but looks blond at times and in the sun) and light brown eyes.
I just stared at her, unsure of how to reply.
"Ohh.. Right…" she said once she realised what she had asked and smacked herself lightly on her forehead.
Yasmeen and the other girl burst out laughing.
"Lulu ya '3abiya" Yasmeen forced out in between breathes.
'Lulu' slightly blushed.
"Anyway," Lulu told me, "I'm Lulu, and she's Farah."
"Sara's my lab partner for the rest of the year. She actually understands chemistry!" Yasmeen explained.
"Hahah, good. Yasmeen needs someone like that." Farah said.
"Heeey! Siktay Farah, you're not a genius you know. Anyway Sara's more fun than you guys"
"Haha, thanks Yasmeen."
"We were planning on getting together on Friday, want to come? Unless you have other plans of course." Lulu asked.
"No, I don't have any plans. I'd love to join you guys" I couldn't help but smile.
"Great! What do you have next?" Farah asked.
"Hmm.." I got out my schedule and checked, "biology."
"Wai3, one science is enough for a day" Lulu said.
"I also have biology! We have it together!" Farah smiled at me.
"Aw.." I was cut of by the bell. Time to go to my next lesson with Farah. I guess my mum was right, I would meet nice girls and make friends.

Chapter 1

My whole life I've been in the same school. I was comfortable there, I had friends there and no one really cared enough to cause any drama. My grades were average which satisfied me but my mother always thought ahead. I just finished my first year in high school and my mum's already thinking about which university I might go to. I still have a few years left so I'm not going to strain myself thinking about that yet.

I literally don't know anyone in that school. No friends, no mutual friends, no relatives, nothing. I'm not sure I've even heard of that school until my mum mentioned it last year. Their uniform is horrible, navy blue skirts and a white shirt, might not sound bad but trust me it looks worse than it sounds.

After I got ready I just couldn't take my eyes off the mirror. The uniform itself was displeasing, but now on a petrified student it just encouraged negativity. The ride on the way to school was a blur, I was hardly aware of anything that was going on and looking back at it, it's as if I flew to school.
"Bye 7abeebte. Deray balich 3ala nafsich," but what I heard wasn't my mum's soft tone, instead it was twisted. I turned to face my mother, she had a smirk on her face, which she usually didn't wear. Something seemed off.
"Bye."

I was too nervous to be compassionate towards her. I'll apologise to her later at home.

As soon as I left the car, everyone was staring at me with confused expressions. What's wrong with them? Had they never seen a new student before? Then all of a sudden, the atmosphere changed. It's like everyone realised what they were supposed to do there then started laughing. Cruel cold laughter was the only sound that could be heard within a mile. This didn't help with my nerves. Grey clouds appeared in the sky out of no where, masking the sunshine that was previously there. That's when the pointing started and shoes started dropping from the sky. This made no sense, raining shoes? How is that even possible? But they didn't seem to be hitting anyone. People then decided to throw things at me. What in the world has gotten into these people? Mostly the objects they threw missed me but then someone threw this fury handbag at me and hit me in the face. I tried pulling it off but it wouldn't come off! What is this place?

I opened my eyes to find my cat, Muffy, resting on the lower half of my face. I tried shouting at him to get off, but my words came out as muffled. Now I know what you're all wondering, Muffy, really? Really Sarah? Why would you call your cat that? Well I got him when I was 5 as my birthday present, and his fur was extremely long and needed to be cut but he looked fluffy to me and my favourite thing back then were muffins, so I wanted a combination of both to name my favourite kind of animal. Thank god that was only a dream; strange, like all dreams were. Well I guess it's time then. Time to get ready for the first day at my new school.

Introductions

Hey there.

I like your hair ;)

Who does your hair?

I wanna go there.

Kidding! So we're four girls talking about our lives, and in case you're wondering, quatre vivres means four lives; which is us, four girls writing this blog.

There are four main characters which are Sarah, Yasmeen, Lulu and Farah. We don't even need to describe how we look like, cause we're typical kuwaiti brunettes with normal heights for our age.

We're currently about to start our second year in high school but we're not going to say any more than that cause we don't want to give out any spoilers.

So get ready to read the first chapter and we hope you'll enjoy it.

Now, BYE KEEKERS!
